Sigvaris® Compreflex Transition Calf Wrap With Transition Socks: A Practical Compression Solution

The Sigvaris Compreflex® Transition Calf Wrap is an adjustable, inelastic compression system designed for people who are transitioning from intensive swelling reduction to long-term compression management. It combines a calf wrap with specially designed Transition Liners (compressive socks) to make compression easier, more comfortable, and more sustainable for everyday use.

Who Is the Compreflex Transition Calf For?

This system is commonly recommended for people with:

  • Venous leg ulcers or ongoing wound care needs
  • Chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), stage 1 or 2
  • Lymphedema
  • Post-surgical leg swelling

It is especially helpful for patients who need daily compression but struggle with traditional compression stockings.

What Makes This System Different?

The Compreflex Transition Calf is designed specifically for the maintenance phase of compression therapy—after the initial swelling has been reduced.

Unlike traditional stockings, it:

  • Is adjustable throughout the day
  • Does not require pulling on high-compression garments
  • Adapts to changes in leg size
  • Is easier to put on and take off independently

Adjustable Compression You Can Control

The wrap provides adjustable compression from 20–50 mmHg, allowing compression to be matched to your clinical needs.

Compression levels include:

  • 20–30 mmHg (mild–moderate)
  • 30–40 mmHg (moderate–firm)
  • 40–50 mmHg (firm)

Compression is set using Accutab® guides, which help ensure each strap is applied evenly and safely—no guesswork required.

Unique Feature: Transition Liners (Compressive Socks)

A key advantage of this system is the included Transition Liners, designed to make compression easier and more comfortable.

How the Transition Liners Work

  • Provide 10–15 mmHg compression at the foot and ankle (where swelling is most common)
  • Gradually reduce to no compression at the top of the sock
  • Padded foot and ankle protect sensitive skin
  • Much easier to put on than full-length compression liners

This design gives support where it’s needed most while avoiding the difficulty of pulling on tight socks up the calf.

Material and Design

The Compreflex Transition Calf Wrap is made from medical-grade laminated foam that is:

  • Breathable and moisture-wicking
  • Durable for long-term use
  • Comfortable during movement

The short-stretch (inelastic) design provides:

  • Low resting pressure (safe for day and night wear)
  • High working pressure during walking and activity—helping move fluid out of the leg

Key Features at a Glance

  • Built-in stretch panel to hold the wrap in place during application
  • Medical-grade Velcro® straps that stay flat and secure
  • Anatomically contoured spine for a better calf fit
  • Adjustable compression as swelling changes
  • Includes everything needed for use right out of the box

What’s Included

  • One Compreflex Transition Calf wrap
  • One pair of Transition Liners
  • Accutab® compression guides for each strap

How the Wrap Is Applied (Overview)

  1. Ensure skin is clean and dry
  2. Put on the Transition Liner (can be folded or rolled for easier donning)
  3. Slide the wrap on with the stretch panel facing forward
  4. Position the wrap about two finger widths below the knee crease
  5. Close straps gently without tension
  6. Use Accutab® guides to set the prescribed compression level

Your nurse or therapist will teach you the correct technique.

Why Many Patients Prefer This Option

The Compreflex Transition Calf is often chosen because it:

  • Makes compression more manageable long-term
  • Reduces frustration with tight stockings
  • Supports independence
  • Allows easy adjustment as swelling changes
  • Provides effective compression without high resting pressure
