Global Progress in Malaria Fight Continues Amid Challenges in Africa, WHO Reports
According to WHO data, global efforts against malaria have averted 2.2 billion cases and 12.7 million deaths since 2000, but the disease remains prevalent, particularly in Africa. Despite successful vaccinations and anti-mosquito nets, health inequalities, underfunding and other factors exacerbate the problem. The WHO emphasizes the need for more inclusive, equity-focused strategies.
